Overview

A view event is a record that shows a user opened or viewed a supported page or entity.

What this feature does

It captures access context for supported views, such as the viewed entity, user, timestamp, IP address, country, or user agent where available.

Why it is useful

  • It helps understand who accessed sensitive information.
  • It adds context to later updates or deletions.
  • It helps security teams review unusual access patterns.

Who should read this?

RISE Admin, Security Officer, Support Engineer.

Where to find it

View events appear in Rise Audit Pro → View Log and may also be connected to entity pages or reports.

How to use it

  1. Open View Log.
  2. Review the entity or page viewed.
  3. Check the user and timestamp.
  4. Use filters for user, date, entity, or IP when investigating.

Example workflow

A client record was viewed by a staff user shortly before a profile update. The admin reviews the view event and the activity event together.

Common mistakes

  • Confusing view events with update events.
  • Assuming every view means the user changed the record.
  • Using view tracking without explaining internal privacy policies.
