Understanding Change Diffs

Estimated reading: 1 minute 5 views

Overview

Change diffs show the before and after values for fields that changed during an update event.

What this feature does

They make it easier to understand exactly what was modified instead of only knowing that a record was updated.

Why it is useful

  • It helps identify sensitive changes quickly.
  • It reduces investigation time.
  • It is useful for finance, project, client, and permission-related reviews.

Who should read this?

RISE Admin, Security Officer, Finance Manager, Project Manager.

Where to find it

Rise Audit Pro → Activity Log → Changes or Diff action.

How to use it

  1. Open Activity Log.
  2. Find an updated event.
  3. Click the Changes or Diff button.
  4. Review old values and new values.
  5. Use notes or tags if the event needs follow-up.

Example workflow

A proposal amount changed from one value to another. The diff viewer shows the old value, the new value, and the user who performed the update.
