Overview

Entity Timeline shows a chronological view of events for a selected record.

What this feature does

It presents record-specific events in time order so administrators can understand the sequence of actions around a record.

Why it is useful

  • It helps reconstruct what happened to a record.
  • It is easier to review than a flat table for long investigations.
  • It connects create, update, delete, view, and related events where available.

Who should read this?

RISE Admin, Security Officer, Support Manager.

Where to find it

Rise Audit Pro → Entity Timeline, or from a record history button if available.

How to use it

  1. Open the entity timeline page or button.
  2. Select or open the target entity.
  3. Review events from oldest to newest or newest to oldest depending on the interface.
  4. Open diff or event details where available.

Example workflow

A contract was updated several times in one day. The admin opens the entity timeline to see the full sequence of changes and users involved.

Common mistakes

  • Using a timeline when a filtered export is needed for reporting.
  • Assuming timeline data includes unsupported third-party plugin events.
  • Reviewing only one event instead of the full sequence.
