Overview

The Visual Diff Viewer displays changed values in a readable format so administrators can compare what changed before and after an update.

Where to find it

Activity Log diff actions, entity history areas, and other places where change details are available.

How to use it

  1. Open Activity Log.
  2. Find an updated event with change data.
  3. Click the diff or changes action.
  4. Review the old and new values.
  5. Close the modal and continue filtering if needed.

Example workflow

Instead of reading a raw JSON change, the admin sees that the invoice due date changed from one date to another in a clear before-and-after view.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting visual diff for created or deleted events in the same way as updated events.
  • Not checking excluded fields when a field does not appear in the diff.
